Black Box teater, founded in 1985, is a theater in Oslo dedicated to contemporary and experimental performing arts. It presents Norwegian and international artists—both emerging and established—across two annual seasons and the Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival each March.
The program embraces interdisciplinary work and includes shows for all ages. Engaged with the city, the theater supports projects that explore Oslo’s urban life. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, Black Box teater fosters creativity, dialogue, and collaboration.
